Broken Horn Outfitters was established in 2003. We hunt mule deer and rocky mountain elk primarily in Central and Eastern Oregon and have private land access in the Heppner, Ochoco, Fossil, and Grizzly game management units. We also are, at present, the only outfitter to hold a permit to guide on public lands in the Heppner and Fossil GMU’s of the Umatilla National Forest.
We have been guiding deer and elk hunters since 2004 and have made this a very personable business with numerous return clients every year. Currently we have 4 private ranch leases where we have some of the best mule deer and rocky mountain elk hunting there is to offer in the State of Oregon. We have guided and non-guided hunts for both rifle and archery hunters and take pride in the fact that a majority of our clients are return friends who have been both successful and unsuccessful in harvesting an animal. Our goal is to make sure that from the time you arrive, until the time you leave, that you first and foremost have a positive hunting experience. As most hunters know harvesting an animal is the main objective, but having fun doing it is the most important aspect of the hunt.
Broken Horn Outfitters is a licensed outfitter in the State of Oregon. As enacted by the 1997 Oregon State Legislature, the Guides and Outfitters Program provides guides and outfitters with the opportunity to market nonresident tags. A number of tags equal to one-half the nonresident tags drawn in the previous year are available through this program. Guides certified by the Oregon State Marine Board submitted applications and competed for the right to market these tags. Information on Guides and Outfitters can be obtained from the Oregon Sate Marine Board in Salem, 503-378-8587 Ext. 225.
Broken Horn Outfitters is an equal opportunity service provider and operates under a special use permit provided by the Umatilla National Forest.
